    Casstastrophe

    /kəssˈtastrəfi/ [noun]:

    (1) a Cassie causing great and usually sudden damage or suffering, especially via attempts at jokes; a disaster.
    (2) the denouement of a drama, especially a classical tragedy or drastic overreaction.

Tales of Casstastrophe first came to be back in 2015.

It started as a sort of diary or journal, if I’m being honest. My life was undergoing a lot of change at the time and I created this site as a means of helping me process it all and to find peace in it.

Now here we are, in 2026, and not much is different as to why I’m keeping it around. Writing has been a love of mine for as long as I can remember. It was sad to watch Tales of Casstastrophe grow quieter and quieter as I struggled to adapt it alongside the person I was growing into, and the life I started living as a result.

I pulled the site offline for a few months in 2021 and reworked the look and feel to better match who I am as a person now. Then in 2025, I left my decade-long career in financial consulting and earned a master’s degree in Creative Writing at the University of Glasgow. The world is an even weirder and scarier place than it was when Tales started eleven years ago, to say the very least, and we’re all trying to carve out our places in it. This happens to be mine.

Tales of Casstastrophe is a lot of things, but first and foremost it is me.
